Post, as in Post Haste; as in, well, you know what that means… Thing 13

Okay. I admit it. I could have spent a whole day diddling my way through presentations from the K12 Online Conference–in which case it would be like GOING to a conference (but without the goodies which I love, and without the “hours” toward renewing my license, which I also love…), though it was awfully nice to be sitting in my family room in my scrungies, and hit pause a time or two when life called. I’ll go back there again. I watched Bridging History Using Web 2.0 from 2009. I chose that session because it rather reminded me of my blog title, and what I want to accomplish here! I learned about some cool tools (especially Glogster). I was also reminded about WebQuests, which I learned about years ago, but put out of my mind after reaching into the treasure box and pulling out a few duds. I should look again. The class also used gmail video chat to interview an author, which is mighty appealing; not sure if our technology is up to that! I was encouraged that the teacher was continuing to modify her unit (who doesn’t do that?) with regard to technology as well as content, resources, and assessment. That’s a good way to approach this “shift” toward 2.0 for me. So. Post haste it was; no traffic, no parking, no lines; easy in, easy out: my kind of conference!

    Katie,
Love your writing style and I could have guessed that you would have attended an online conference on history. I found the one I attended interesting and of value philosophically. Check it out…
